Affordable Housing Proposed in the Area

Pembroke Pines has approved the construction of 250 affordable housing units to be built on the City Center site, at Pines Boulevard between Palm Avenue and Hiatus Road.   City Center is adjacent to the Pembroke Pines City Hall and is currently under construction.

The city is applying for $5.5 million in grants from the state to fund the project and the process of approvals and funding may take some time.

Homeowners apparently will not be able to “flip” these affordable homes for a profit, due to deed restrictions being implemented.

Area Foreclosures Provide Opportunities

It seems more and more foreclosures are on the MLS now than ever before and that should not be a surprise with the media attention focussed on distressed properties and owners.  It also appears prices on these properties are being lowered more quickly than non-foreclosure properties in order to expedite sales.

We are currently working with several buyers to locate foreclosure properties and other distress sale situations, such as short sales and pre-foreclosures.  All of these offer the potential for substantial savings.

Broward County Real Estate
